RIP Jack Palance

Today Jack Palance passed away. Most people may remember him as the mysterious hired gun in the movie Shane. If you haven't oh well, you've probably seen him in some other film in his prolific career.

Quality Plans and Corrective Actions

I won't go into too much on this since I am still at work but here's my perspective on things. Quality Plans/Inititives and Corrective actions are no solutions to problems, they symptoms of even larger problems/failures in the system.

As I have stated before people are no longer interested in root cause analysis. When implimenting a quality plan the one most important thing people forget is that solving a problem isn't done by making it more complex its done by making it simpler. The quality plan in and of itself is a problem showing the deeper rooted dillema in all quality control systems. All these inititives are doomed to failure and 5 year plans have to be reviewed and recreated every 3 years or so.

I'd rather fascist than communist.

Ah november... the month we celebrate turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and crazed communists.

By this point in time it shouldn't be hard to figure out that I was refering to Democrats in that first line. Granted I myself have no love for Republicans but frankly if your choices are:

Fascism is a radical political ideology that combines elements of corporatism, authoritarianism, nationalism, militarism, and anti-anarchism"

Or

Communism is an ideology that seeks to establish a future classless, stateless social organization, based upon common ownership of the means of production.

Which do you pick?

I'd rather be Republican, er, fascist.
